Have you tried to rejuvenate your lips with creams, oils, and other anti-aging products without success? What if we informed you there is yet another effective treatment that doesn’t involve surgery?
the L.A.B. med spa welcomes you to the world of dermal fillers! The experienced team at our Southlake, Texas, office can use this minimally invasive cosmetic procedure to help you achieve youthful-looking lips to turn back the hands of time.
The skin loses its elasticity and structure as we age, making fine lines and wrinkles more pronounced. This can especially be more prominent around the lips, causing the appearance of lip lines or smoker’s lines that are hard to conceal. Lip lines can form above, below, or on the lips and extend vertically towards the nose or downwards to the chin.
Aging results in decreased production of collagen ā your body’s natural building block for smooth, firm, and elastic skin. In advanced age, collagen levels drop significantly, causing your skin to lose its firmness, resulting in wrinkles and fine lines around the lips.
Besides aging, vertical lip lines may develop because of:
In the past, many patients believed plastic surgery was the only treatment for lip lines, but now we have non-surgical, effective options. Dermal fillers, for example, are minimally invasive treatments that can rejuvenate your skin for plump, smooth, youthful-looking lips.
Dermal fillers are cosmetic injectables that correct deep folds and lines and fix sagging skin due to natural aging. Our office uses Juvederm, Restylane, RHA and Versa fillers to rejuvenate your lips.
Fillers contain hyaluronic acid gel designed similarly to your body’s collagen. This hyaluronic acid hydrates the skin, adds skin volume, and boosts collagen production to plump your lips for a fuller, youthful-looking appearance.
Correcting vertical lip lines with fillers is a quick outpatient procedure that takes only about 20 minutes. The procedure is painless because we use microneedles laced with a numbing agent to minimize discomfort.
The procedure also produces instant results. This way, you enjoy your refreshed, supple, and plump lips right after treatment. Also, expect minimal to no downtime ā you can resume your everyday activities after treatment. Some people may experience mild redness and swelling, but these symptoms clear after a few days.
Dermal filler results aren’t permanent, but they help achieve the most durable results compared to other injectables or non-surgery procedures. The longevity of dermal fillers depends on the type you opt for, but the results can last a year. It’s advisable you get a touch-up after six months before the current results fade. This way, you will maintain your fresh-looking lips all year long.
The appearance of lip lines or smoker’s lines can be a stressful reminder of the natural aging process. While several treatments exist to eliminate lip wrinkles, dermal fillers stand out because the treatment is minimally invasive and quick, and the results can last over a year.
