Sonya provides a comprehensive consultation including skincare, neuromodulators, dermal fillers and resurfacing treatments. She will provide answers to all the patient’s cosmetic questions and formulate a treatment plan for each individual patient’s skin type, concern and desire for the future. She has a knack for developing long-term relationships with her patients and prefers to take a more conservative approach, to provide a natural looking but artistic result. With the patient’s help, she will prioritize their concerns and create a list of treatment options. Her goal is for the patient to receive the safest, most results oriented, longest-lasting and cost effective treatment available.
Sonya started her nursing career in 1998 as a nurse’s aide while she worked her way through nursing school, and now she is one of only two nurses in the state of Texas who are not only certified in Aesthetics but also Plastic Surgery. She has spent the past two decades training with the best plastic surgeons and dermatologists from around the world to develop her own unique techniques and consultations. She has a palpable passion for the industry and runs a very busy injectable practice in the Southlake area. She has not only earned the respect of her peers but also physicians for having an outgoing personality and providing quality aesthetic care and referrals.
Her Allergan account is one of the top 500 in the US and she ranks nationally in the top 100 accounts through Prollenium. She performs around 50K procedures a year and carries a practice of around 3K patients. She injects around 700 syringes of filler per year and around 75,000 units of neuromodulators. She is proficient in all dermal fillers and neuromodulators currently on the market and loves training other injectors. Alongside aesthetics, she can also work as an OR circulator, recovery room nurse and can handle pre-and-post-op appointments for all plastic surgery patients. She is trained on numerous lasers and skincare treatments and is knowledgeable about skincare ingredients in order to make recommendations or referrals as needed whether it be for a plastic surgery consultation, laser treatment or recommending an alternative neuromodulator or filler. She is also a certified trainer for Allergan, Merz and Prollenium and offers private advanced technique trainings as well to physicians, PA’s and other nurse injectors through her office.
Sonya works under the direction of Medical Director, Stephen R. Ellis, MD as well as Dr. Jesse Smith, MD, FACS. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association, American Society of Plastic Surgical Nurses and Texas Association of Aesthetic Nurses
Sonya has been married to the love of her life for over 20 years and has one son who is attending Texas A&M University. She enjoys a 106lb Labradoodle fur baby at home and in her spare time likes to volunteer for numerous charities, loves to travel the world and enjoys socializing with friends and family when time permits.
