If you struggle with naturally thin lips, you are not the only one who would like to consider cosmetic treatments to augment them. At the L.A.B. med spa of Southlake, Texas, our doctors are pleased to provide patients with solutions that offer non-invasive options to choose from. With lip filler treatment, patients can enjoy thicker, more voluminous lips in a single visit to our practice. Let’s look closely at lip filler injections and what sets them apart from other available treatment options.
The lip filler treatment involves injecting dermal fillers into the patient’s lips to enhance their size and shape. These fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in one’s body that helps to hydrate and plump the skin. Injecting this substance into the lips adds volume and definition, resulting in fuller and more youthful-looking lips.
There are different types of lip fillers available on the market, including JuvƩderm, Restylane, and Belotero. Each type has its unique formulation that determines its thickness and longevity. For example, JuvƩderm Ultra XC is best for adding volume to thin lips, while JuvƩderm Volbella XC is better for fine lines around the lips, making it a popular choice for those seeking a natural-looking lip augmentation.
The longevity of lip fillers varies depending on individual factors such as lifestyle and personal metabolism levels, as well as the type of filler used. Generally, most hyaluronic acid fillers can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months before they are metabolized by the body. However, with regular touch-up treatments, patients can maintain their desired results for longer periods.
Compared to surgical procedures such as lip implants or fat transfer, lip filler injections offer a non-invasive alternative with minimal downtime and lower risks. The results of lip fillers can be easily adjusted or reversed if a patient is not satisfied with their appearance. This customizable aspect makes lip filler injections a popular choice among patients seeking natural-looking and subtle enhancements to their lips.
